About

Katie Lipsitt was born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. She attended Barnard College, Columbia University where she received her BA in Art History and Fine Art. 

She fell in love (with her now husband), learned to drive and moved to Los Angeles to study Fine Art at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena. 

She was lured from art into the world of film for 7 years, in which she worked as a set decorator and production designer in film, television and video. 

After that chapter, she pivoted back to her heart and roots and went into art education (and had a couple of kids!) Presently Katie is a teaching artist at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) where she is joyfully teaching elementary students and teachers. (check out her videos below!)  

She lives in Los Angeles with her film producer, husband , two teens and a dog named Norman. 

When she isn’t making cards or teaching, Katie can be found hiking, walking, reading or cooking!
